Born Into It
Olivia has been an artist her entire life. With two parents who both share a love for the arts, creativity was always encouraged — and she was always seeking some outlet to express herself. Her dad has been a tattooed guy for as long as she can remember, and that world fascinated her early. By 16 she had made up her mind: tattooing was the career. She spent her school years drawing on herself and anyone else who would let her, and the moment she graduated she set her heart on finding an apprenticeship.
She found The East. She wouldn't have it any other way.
The Style: Goth Lisa Frank
Olivia describes her work as a melting pot of gothic illustration, bright dynamic colors, bold lines, and heavy contrast. Dark themes, vivid palette, characters with personality. Someone once called her "Goth Lisa Frank" and she's claimed it ever since — it's probably the most accurate three words anyone has found.
Her favorite subjects are spooky women, skulls, weapons, animals, and dragons, with a strong love for Japanese subjects, anime, and pop culture woven throughout. She'll go dark and moody or bright and chaotic depending on the piece — but she's happiest when she gets to use dynamic, punchy color regardless of the subject matter. Kelly Doty, Vitaly Morozov, and Stephanie Guillotine are touchstone artists. Pokémon, Final Fantasy, metal, and dad rock feed the rest.
The Apprenticeship
Olivia came up at The East under Steve Roberts, and she's genuinely grateful for every part of it. The studio took her in, had patience with her, and gave her the space to grow. The most important thing she took from the process: trust yourself and never stop trying to improve. Tattooing is always evolving, and so is she.
Off the Clock
When she's not in the studio you'll find her rollerskating, experimenting with makeup, cooking, playing video games, or catching movies and rock concerts. She loves a good recharge day at home — but when the energy is there, she's out exploring somewhere new.
